There is a suggestion that we should have a "draw" of some kind at the Convoy of Hope event to bring people to our table. A possible draw would be cookies topped with jam we have canned. It is thought this is a good idea and those interested can discuss. Another suggestion is handing out a bag with St. Alban’s and our projects written on it. Mother Cathy will look into the cost and possibility.

The jam made this week was given the label "How Grape Thou Art jam" by Paula Shepard. Thanks Paula for your work and creativity.

Virginia will not be teaching the faith class this year, as her schedule is full.

Regarding a study in Advent, we could shorten the church service, have soup and sandwich lunch then a class that would finish @ 1:30. This will be considered further.

We will can apples and pears on Wed., Sept. 8 at 9:00 a.m. Please come and help, as it will take a lot of hands to get this done in a day.

Bible Study will begin Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 10:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

It is also suggested we have a book club to meet each quarter and discuss a book. It could be a novel, or theological book, or anything we are interested in. Paula Shepard volunteers her house on Nov. 10 at 5:30. We will have a Pot Luck supper. We plan to rotate the meeting place each quarter and the host (hostess) will be allowed to consult with others and make the book selection. Paula will do this and announce the chosen book as soon as possible.

We still need to talk about play equipment for the young people. Paula reported there is a set at Sam’s with swings, etc. for $1,200.00, which would be appropriate. We also need something like a basketball hoop for our big kids. The heavy portable ones are about $300.00. The play area needs to be cleaned out. We need more ground cover with more gravel on top also.

This is the last in this series of congregational meetings.
