Leader: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you:

All: because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

 

Leader: Nicodemus and Joseph of Aramathea had earlier feared to make it known that they were disciples of Jesus. But now they openly confessed their faith by burying Jesus, risking the wrath of the Jewish leaders.

May we at all times be prepared to make a resting place for Jesus

within us, and never conceal our love for Christ, and in our words

and deeds proclaim Him Lord.

 

Leader:  Blessed Lord Jesus, grant our prayer

               That we may die without a care,

              That we may take our last long rest

              And by your presence be ever blessed.
